I have always drawn and sketched, at high school I took up painting, firstly with acrylics and then oil paint. I paint most days for 2 to 3 hours. The subject is usually a place I am familiar with, The Moutere hills, Waimea estuary, Ruby Bay or the Abel Tasman National Park. 

I spend the days observing light and color and then paint at night in my studio.
