A famous quote is “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. It is my belief that beauty can be found in everything whether it is a wondrous sunset or the shapes, forms and subtle colours of the dreariest scene. I hope to share this with the viewers of my work.

My inspiration has always come from my surroundings but is especially fuelled by the beauty of landscape. Love for my native English countryside and then the wilder, grander scenes of New Zealand have played an equal part in the development of my work. I use visual diaries for use as inspiration for studio work, using various media gives me the appropriate choice for the subject.

Most of my work (especially weaving and felt work) was sold from home, until my move to Nelson but also from The Academy of Fine Arts, Pataka, The Dowse, local galleries and from exhibitions by Creative Fibre NZ, and Port Nicholson Handweavers.
I have written one publication: The Feltmaker’s Handbook. Pitman Publishers.
