Born in the UK, I have now lived half my life in New Zealand. I have drawn, painted and made things since childhood, but only started painting seriously in 2009. After children, I took the opportunity to change career direction, studying Interior Design. I fell in love with the drawing and illustration side of it and ended up teaching those subjects at D&A and Ara institutions. Since moving to Nelson in 2015 I now paint full-time using acrylics for their amazing flexibility.

My subjects are mostly buildings, inside and out, with views into or out of windows at every opportunity. I also enjoy doing commissions and bringing someone's vision to life. My main influences are Peter Siddel and Gregory Crewdson (photographer).

My style is very detailed with a concentration on light falling and including the unexpected. Every building has a story and I try to express it. My paintings tell stories and stories connect people. "footfalls" my first solo exhibition is in June 2024 at the McKee Gallery in the Suter Gallery.
